Arran is a Principal Technical Artist at Epic Games, where he has become a leading expert in Unreal Engine. With a background in indie game development and over a decade of experience as a Senior Lecturer in Game Art, Arran brings a unique blend of technical expertise and teaching experience to his work. He is best known for creating and self-publishing Bears Can’t Drift!?, the first cross-platform Unreal game developed entirely in Blueprint.
Before joining Epic Games, Arran spent 10 years as a Senior Lecturer, educating and inspiring the next generation of game artists. His time in academia helped him develop a deep passion for mentorship and sharing his knowledge with others, which continues to shape his work today.
At Epic, Arran contributes to a wide range of projects that educate and inspire the global game development community. His work includes sample projects like Valley of the Ancients, Cropout, Titan and many more. In addition to this, Arran travels the world, providing guidance to both AAA and indie studios on how to craft visually stunning and high-performing games using Unreal Engine.
