Frontier & RiVR join us in the Interactive Futures Showcase
If you’re coming along to Interactive Futures this weekend then be sure to stop by the Showcase to meet our brilliant exhibitors.
Amongst those to be added to the Showcase are both Frontier and RiVR.
Frontier Developments is the studio behind Jurassic World Evolution, Elite Dangerous, LostWinds, and Planet Coaster. Founded in 1994 by games industry veteran David Braben, Frontier’s development strengths are immersive and fun gameplay, artistic quality, and a talent for getting the best out of hardware and UI, all enabled by its cutting-edge in-house COBRA game development technology.
RiVR specialise in VR tech. They create real world environments, with the end user being fully immersed in a virtual area. Allowing them to move around in real time and interact with objects. They also use custom built photogrammetry rigs to scan any real world object and recreate it as an accurate 3d model. This offers both on and off site solutions to quickly create a large number of items for use in training experiences or offered as an external service to the film or games industry.
Through their tech services they’re able to train students in dangerous situations without the risk of injury, meaning that as well as working with games companies RiVR also provide vital tech to blue light services.
You can also catch RiVR’s Alex Harvey on the Hub Stage on Saturday 2 February at 3pm discussing How Photogrammetry is Being Used for Games Development & VR training.
